21 Days Until Home
Some stories write themselves.
I've sold several articles on the #homebuild process. Things you should do. Things you should NOT do. Things to watch out for. And things - or people - that must be included —or NOT included—in the process.
My notes could be the entire article. Like they say, the names have been changed to protect the innocent and some names will be shouted from the rooftop with accolades and some, trepidation.
Nevertheless, these are articles I love to write. I'm invested. During the last two years, I've learned about expectations and let-downs; settling yet never compromising; dreams and mere stupidity; good people and bad people; and now, I get to share.
We're 20 days out from completion. Let me say that again.
20 DAYS
First comes the reveal; then, the open house (which I hope all of you will come). I am so proud of what Len and I have built. We've sacrificed and given our all to this. We've worked hard for it and we've earned it. It's not a showcase house; it's a house built from love and hard work and passion. And we're so lucky to call it home.
Thank you to people who have shared their talents: Saving Time Designs - Joel and Sherry; without you two, we'd be lost; New World Craftsmen (Pamela Keene) Rick, I never thought these cabinets were even in my hemisphere; plus the contractors who have done an amazing job. And then there's Zelda, Crazy Toes, Muriel and Cody who made the journey so much sweeter. We're taking you home in a couple of weeks.
Have a great weekend. No weddings this weekend, so Len and I are doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - a little editing and writing but other than that, you'll find us at the Sand Bar in Hiawassee. It's the sand that breaths life into this tired body.
