Two To Go Till Home

2 days.

I never thought we would get here.

The road has been long. The last part has been incredibly hard, and we both feel as those we’ve been beat down. The sighs have overshadowed the laughter, but we will not let them win. Yet, how in the world did we manage to find all the hard knocks in one journey?

We have learned the true character of people; the disposable promises of contractors; the pride of many in their craft and the greed that drives the others; the intense love we have for our animals to roll with the punches and the sorrow for those we lost along the way; the wish we had that some of our children cared enough to be here; the exhaustion Len and I feel at this moment in time, and the joy that simultaneously appears without notice ; and, heaven’s promise that we are being watched from above.

2 days.

Then, we’re home.
